As we all get used to more time being isolated, I thought I’d share a story from 1665. Researching the history of the town I live in – Stowmarket – I discovered that the 1665-6 Bubonic plague never reached the town.
This was becuase the neighbouring town of Needham Market isolated itself to stop the plague spreading.
There are traces of this period of history hidden around the town in street names and local names.
In this video, I also examine the scary costume of the Plague Doctor and why it looks so weird!
